SnedekerA Legacy of Leadership and AdvocacyNorman A. Snedeker was a partner in Snedeker and Ambrose, a longstanding optical practice in Newark, New Jersey. Their office was also a New Jersey guild optician office. A passionate advocate for the profession, Norman worked tirelessly to advance opticianry throughout the state. He was instrumental in promoting licensure for New Jersey opticians and frequently traveled to Trenton to advocate personally for the profession. As a founding member of the Opticians Association of New Jersey (OANJ), Norman helped establish a foundation for the profession that continues to benefit opticians today. Upon his passing, Norman generously left funds to OANJ for the express purpose of establishing scholarships for optical students in New Jersey. Through this scholarship, his commitment to education, professional excellence, and the future of opticianry lives on. Scholarship Eligibility & ApplicationTo qualify for the Norman A. Snedeker Scholarship, applicants must have completed their first year of classes in their optical education program. Selected recipients receive a $500 scholarship check to support their optician education journey.
